Very funny video. When I first saw the Westboro Church's website, I couldn't decide whether these kooks were serious or not, and not even a recent Louis Theroux documentary helped me make up my mind.

Anyway, it gets on my nerves, the amount of media attention they get, given that they've got less than 100 members.

EDIT: What's with the man flying the upside-down Canadian flag in the background?

Exactly what I was referring to, I can't really imagine that anyone would actually mean all that, and those songs of theirs simply crack me up. I don't think I've heard anything so outrageously funny before.
On the other hand the signs you usually get when you're looking at satire are missing.

Exactly - their protests and some of their materials are just downright offensive and unfunny, and clearly don't serve any satirical purpose.

But still, they can be a fantastic source of hilarity - this open letter to the United Kingdom made me burst out laughing for the salutation alone...

I hope they never get a PR agent.

Flying your own flag upside down was a signal of distress for the Canadian Military.

You're right. It is people like this that give Christians a bad name. It's called an extremest group, just like the taliban. But, what do you know, the US went to war with the middle east because of an extremest group. Odd isn't it?

So if they are not recieving commercial gain they can't be sued for stealing that song or what?

I can't recall exactly what one it is but it's one of those Christmas songs like, "Do they know it's christmas?"

I wouldn't be too quick to even call these people Christian guys. The yardstick for what is and is not Christian, from the time of Constantine, has been The Nicean Creed. I'm not really a scripture or creed quoter, but when faced with this from others claiming my faith, I have to go back to it. The Nicean creed states this about Jesus "For us and for our salvation, he came down from heaven," and states that "We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins." There is no one specific group from which salvation is withheld. A baptized homosexual, who repents of all of his or her sins is just as likely to be saved as a thief, or someone who habitually ticks people off with his religious dogma

These people are denying that Christ will save you unless you conform to their ideas. That puts them outside of what the councils of Nicea termed as Christian.

A bunch of nimrods singing "God Hates the World" is not even close to a regime that gave safe harbor to Al Queda. Al Queda took physical action against the United States, murdering about 3,000 innocent people. How can you even compare the 2 groups as the same?

Did these so-called Christians (there's no way they could be) give aid, comfort, and shelter to Al-Queda? No...the Taliban did.

I don't think they even care about the war. In the first god hates fags video on youtube, the person clearly states that they're just doing what they're doing to mock people. They don't care if people are doing to the right or wrong things, they're just fulfilling their earthly desires, and trying to make themselves look like saints in their own eyes at the same time.

Is it actually, "We Are The World"? Someone suggested it on youtube - I think it's somewhat similar, but I'm no good at judging these sorts of things.
